A Programme called "AMMA LAALANA" is launched in Karimnagar District on 09-08-2011 to provide better health care to mother and child.
AIM:-To increase institutional deliveries in Government Hospitals and to decrease infant and maternal mortality rate in the district.
1. In this programme all PHC were provided computers with internet connection.
2. All pregnant women in the district are registered and their names were computerized in MCH Tracking formats for name based tracking along with their mobile numbers.
3. SMS are sent to them reminding their date of antenatal checkup and also asking them to come to hospital for checkup.
4. Advisories regarding the diet, medicines, rest etc are sent to them through SMS.
5. ANM also call them to confirm whether they have received the SMS are not.
6. Monthly feed back is collected as how many pregnant women were sent SMS and how many have come for check up.
7. SMS are also sent for EDD (Expected case of delivery) their details are also taken every month.
8. All PHC are kept ready to conduct normal deliveries and cases requiring surgeries are referred to higher centre in 108 ambulence.
9. Name based tracking of children will be launched and SMS will be sent for reminding them regarding routine immunization.
